    • Jacalyn McGeehan Operations Manager
    • Email: jacalyn@joescan.com
    • Jackie joined JoeScan in 2016 as the Operations Manager. Her responsibilities include all aspects of accounting, purchasing of raw materials, and processing and scheduling customers’ orders. Jackie is also responsible for taking care of JoeScan’s most important resource – the employees. If you aren’t sure who to speak with, start with Jackie. If it’s not her, she’ll know where to direct you.

Jackie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University. She has worked in educational software design, commercial real estate, construction, chemical manufacturing, and in a recording studio. However, the hardest job she ever had was as a Commercial Fisherman in Southwest Alaska, which she did for too many years to count.

In her spare time, Jackie spends time reading (mostly fiction), practicing her accuracy at the shooting range, and spending time with friends and family.

    • David Reagin Full Stack Hardware and Software Engineer
    • E-mail: david.reagin@joescan.com
    • David Reagin joined JoeScan in January 2016 as a Full Stack Hardware and Software Engineer. David has spent the past 15 years working at Intel, where his primary responsibility was validating microprocessors. At JoeScan, David’s role is device-level programming. • Kristina Shepley Assembly Technician
    • Email: kris@joescan.com
    • For nearly a decade, Kris has prided herself in building the best products for JoeScan’s customers. Kris joined the JoeScan team in 2005 and has built hundreds of JoeScan scan heads since. As an Assembly Technician, Kris builds, repairs, troubleshoots and tests all models of JoeScan scan heads. In addition, she writes procedures, maintains test fixtures and trains colleagues. Kris enjoys the hands-on nature of her job.

Kris spent most of her teenage years tinkering with electronics and mechanical components. She began working in the technology field immediately after high school. While working in the semi-conductor industry, Kris attended school and earned two Associate of Applied Science degrees – one in Electronics Technology and the other in Information Technology.

Kris enjoys spending time with her two children, scuba diving, fishing, gardening, traveling and being outdoors.

    • Fabian Hohmuth Senior Software Engineer
    • E-mail: fabian@joescan.com
    • In 2011, Fabian joined JoeScan as a Senior Software Engineer to assist with development, support and manufacturing. Today, he manages special projects to showcase the use of JoeScan’s laser scanners, builds software and hardware test fixtures, is responsible for developer support and software quality, and assists with many other aspects of the business. He enjoys developing software that is easy to use and maintain.

Fabian originally hails from Germany. When he was 18, he had the once-in-a-lifetime experience of seeing the Berlin Wall come down in person – not something that is easy to forget! After completing high school, he enjoyed what had been impossible for East Germans before – traveling all over Europe.

With no plans for college, Fabian worked several jobs with local land surveying companies. Doing construction survey work in harsh winter conditions prompted Fabian to look at the benefits of a desk job, so in his spare time he started writing small software programs for his company to optimize workflows. These tools proved so valuable to the company that he was promoted to an (indoor) IT position.

Fabian decided to pursue a degree in Geomatics Engineering at the Technical University of Berlin, where he completed the Vordiplom (bachelor’s degree). He focused on Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing for his Diploma (M.Sc.) degree, and got a teaching and then an assistant position in the Photogrammetry department. Working on a prestigious project, the German mission to Mars (Mars '96), he wrote his thesis on image rectification for aerial push-broom scanners based on GPS and altitude data.

After completing his M.Sc. degree, Fabian accepted a position with Leica Geosystems in San Diego, California, where he worked on software algorithms for aerial image processing and archiving. Fabian wanted a broader understanding of aerial photography, so he transferred to Denver, Colorado, where worked as a Sensor Support Engineer for Leica's brand-new digital aerial cameras. Then he moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada to work for NorthWest Geomatics on image processing and 3-D reconstruction software. A year later, he escaped the cold Canadian winter and moved to Portland, Oregon, and joined the JoeScan team.

Fabian is a passionate beer connoisseur and home brewer with a tendency to ridiculously over-engineer his brewing rigs and take things generally too far with hops. Fabian enjoys cycling, good cigars, gardening and camping trips in the beautiful Northwest with his wife, Amber, and his dog, Daisy.

    • Vadim Kovalev Mechanical Engineer
    • E-mail: vadim@joescan.com
    • Vadim joined JoeScan in 2011 as an engineering intern. Vadim has since earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from Washington State University, and he’s now a full-time mechanical engineer with JoeScan. During his internship, Vadim worked on a variety of projects that enabled the hands-on application of his theoretical engineering knowledge. Now Vadim focuses on special projects related to JoeScan’s in-house manufacturing equipment and product assembly. He will also play an active role in producing new video content for the marketing department.

Vadim’s interest in engineering dates back to childhood. Instead of playing with toys, Vadim took apart the toys to discover what was inside and then reassembled them. During his teen years, he spent a lot of time tinkering with the inner workings of everyday objects. Vadim’s interests, combined with his love for science and math, made engineering an obvious career choice.

In his spare time, Vadim enjoys videography. He and his wife, Dasha, like to travel the world, hang out with friends and family, and find new adventures in the Pacific Northwest.
